                   PREFACE OF THE BOOK

Immunization remains one of the most cost-effective and impactful publichealth interventions of our time. With the advent of newer vaccines, evolvingepidemiological trends, and global health challenges such as pandemics andvaccine hesitancy, it is imperative for physicians to stay abreast of currentimmunization practices.

This book, Immunization in Practice: A Guide for Healthcare Providers, bringstogether the expertise of clinicians, public health specialists, andacademicians to provide a comprehensive, evidence-based guide for allmedical practitioners involved in vaccine administration and counseling.

Designed as a multi-author volume, each chapter has been carefully craftedby experts in their respective fields, ensuring both depth and practicalrelevance.

The content spans a wide array of topics—from the scientific basis ofimmunization and the national immunization schedule to cold chainmanagement and vaccine safety. Special attention has been given to theunique challenges faced in low- and middle-income countries.

Our goal is to equip physicians with not only the knowledge but also theconfidence to advocate for and administer vaccines appropriately, therebyreinforcing their crucial role in achieving public health goals. Whether you area primary care provider, pediatrician, internist, or healthcare worker engagedin immunization programs, this book aims to serve as a reliable, up-to-dateresource.

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all contributors for their time, scholarship, and commitment, and to the editorial team whose collaborative effortsbrought this volume to fruition. I hope this book will contribute meaningfullyto the continued success of immunization efforts worldwide.
